Organic cotton means that the raw material has been grown in controlled settings according to strict guidelines with no pesticides, herbicides, or other chemicals. Only natural fertilizers are used, and the soil and water are monitored.
But the organic cotton is not always free from hazardous chemicals, even though the raw material is grown according to organic guidelines and rules of certifications. The dyeing and finishing process can involve use of hazardous chemicals.
We think it is of outmost importance that the fabric has been produced under prober working conditions and without hazardous chemicals. We ask our suppliers and ensure that it is made according to a approved certification, such as GOTS, REACH or Oeko-tex.
